Appointed to develop and maintain signage for Hertfordshire County Council.
In 2022 FTSE100 Pharmaceutical company GSK (LON:GSK) announced a company rebrand as it refocuses its ambition in the field of “biopharma innovation”.
Behind the rebrand is London-based consultancy Wolff Olins. Their work includes an updated logo, bespoke typeface, and motion assets.
The rebrand follows an announcement last year that GSK’s consumer-facing products – which include Panadol and Sensodyne will be trading under a separate brand called Haleon. In May 2022, the British pharmaceutical company also changed its name from GlaxoSmithKline to GSK.
While the new logo retains the previous branding’s orange colour, it is now housed in a new shape called “signal”. The colours have also been inverted. The company’s name now appears in uppercase rather than former lowercase in the logo.
According to the design team at Wolff Olins, accessibility was a significant focus for the rebrand, and assets were tested for legibility across various platforms including digital signage and print uses. There is also a bespoke typeface for the new identity, in focus with these accessibility aims.
The team at EHS are excited to be a part of this project and will be working closely with GSK throughout 2023 /24 on delivering a range of signage. This will include site way-finding & navigation, totem signage, graphics and various motion flex face illuminated signs.
